Arise-Shadow Hunt Shadow Ranks and Awakening System Guide

Arise-Shadow Hunt Guide

In Arise Shadow Hunt, every monster you defeat has a chance to awaken as your Shadow. The game features Shadows ranked from E all the way up to M, with each rank representing a significant boost in power and rarity. The chance to arise a Shadow depends on several factors such as your Hero Quirks,Hero Gears, Antiques, Mounts, Halos, Potions, and Game Passes. The better your equipment and items, the higher your chances of successfully arising a Shadow after defeating an enemy.

Shadow Ranks and Basic Awakening

When fighting regular monsters and bosses across the world, you can naturally arise Shadows of ranks E, D, C, A, S, and G. These ranks are obtainable from the standard MaFissures (also known as Gates) that appear randomly in the game.

However, for higher-tier Shadows such as B, SS, and N, you’ll need to use special Runes and advanced methods.

How to Obtain B, SS, and N Rank Shadows

There are three main methods to get higher-rank Shadows: using Runes during MaFissures, participating in Monster Sieges, and climbing the Solo Tower.

Method 1: Using Rank Up and Rank Down Runes

When a MaFissure (Gate) appears, you can apply Rank Up Runes or Rank Down Runes to influence the Shadow rank you receive.
Rank Up Runes are much rarer, so it’s usually better to save them for higher gates, while Rank Down Runes are more common and practical to use.

Here are the best combinations:

  • C Rank Gate + Rank Up Rune → B Rank Shadow (not recommended)
  • A Rank Gate + Rank Down Rune → B Rank Shadow (recommended)
  • S Rank Gate + Rank Up Rune → SS Rank Shadow (not recommended)
  • G Rank Gate + Rank Down Rune → SS Rank Shadow (recommended)
  • G Rank Gate + Rank Up Rune → N Rank Shadow (recommended)

Method 2: Monster Sieges

Monster Sieges are one of the best ways to farm high-tier Shadows, especially ranks S and G.
They are more time-consuming than MaFissures, but the rewards are worth it.

The Siege locations are as follows:

  • Monster Siege 1: Map 3 – Shadow Castle
  • Monster Siege 2: Map 7 – Demon Castle Tier 2
  • Monster Siege 3: Map 10 – Pagueheart

Most players prefer Monster Sieges due to the better drop rates and longer duration, which allows more chances for high-rank Shadows.

Method 3: Solo Tower Climbing

The Solo Tower is a new single-player challenge located at Map 2 – Level Grinding Cavern.
It provides an easier and consistent way to arise G and N rank Shadows through solo progression.
This mode is great for players who want to strengthen their team without relying on Gates or Sieges.

Crafting Higher Rank Shadows

You can also craft Shadows of higher ranks at specific stations located in different maps. To craft them, you’ll need lower-rank versions of the same Shadow.

Crafting B Rank Shadows:
Requires E, D, and C rank Shadows of the same type.
These can be found throughout the world, in MaFissures, or during Monster Sieges.
Station Location: Map 1 – Shadow Gate City.

Crafting SS Rank Shadows:
Requires B, A, and S rank Shadows of the same type.
A and S ranks are mainly dropped from Sieges and MaFissures.
Station Location: Map 4 – Seolhan Forest.

Crafting M Rank Shadows:
Requires SS, G, and N rank Shadows of the same type.
Station Location: Map 6 – Orc Palace.

Level Cap and Fruit System for M Rank Shadows

Only M rank Shadows can have their level caps increased by using Level Cap Fruits. These fruits are categorized by tiers and can be obtained from bosses or Siege events.

Fruit Drop Details:

  • Tier 1 Fruit (Bloom): 1% drop from any boss – increases level cap by +1
  • Tier 2 Fruit (Apple): 0.1% drop from any boss – increases level cap by +2
  • Tier 3 Fruit (Nexus): 1% drop from Siege bosses – increases level cap by +3
  • Tier 4 Fruit (Seedpod): 0.1% drop from Siege bosses – increases level cap by +4

You can consume up to 10 of each fruit type, allowing a maximum total of +100 level cap increase (10 of each across four tiers).

For example, if your M Rank Shadow’s base level cap is 120, consuming a single Bloom fruit raises it to 121. Consuming all fruits at maximum will allow that Shadow to reach level 220.

Fruits are account-based, meaning once consumed, their benefits apply to all future M Rank Shadows you obtain.

Increasing Shadow Equipment Slots

Players can equip more Shadows by expanding their equipment slots.
You can unlock two extra Shadow slots through a Game Pass, and one additional slot by purchasing the Hero Equip +1 upgrade at Map 1 – Shadow Gate City for 5.6 million Gold.

Strengthening Shadows Further

Your Shadows can grow even stronger through Hero Abilities and Hero Equipment.
Combining proper Hero setups with advanced Shadows and higher equipment slots creates a massive power boost, allowing you to dominate every map, Siege, and Gate encounter.
